Feng Shui and the Root Chakra – Step 5

In creating a home that supports your root chakra’s need for security and safety, I have identified 6 steps that you could take. The 5th step in creating home spaces that support you and your root chakra is…

Get in Command! – Step 5

(I’ve realized that in my recent radio interview with Tracy Makarenko I presented steps 4 and 5 in the opposite order but these two are somewhat interchangeable in nature so it will not matter)

Doesn’t the idea of ‘getting in command’ sound powerful? It is.

The Feng Shui command position it is exactly as its name implies, it is a position for our bed, desk and stove, that places us in the best possible place for success. This position has us with our backs protected and allows us the widest view of the room we are occupying. We can see what is coming in our lives and we are protected from the unexpected.

Using the desk as an example, you want to choose a position in the room where you have a solid support behind the desk itself, ideally a solid wall. Then you want to be able to see the widest expanse of the room and most especially the entry. Lastly, you do not want to be directly in line with the entry or other doors where the chi could be moving too quickly and is therefore less beneficial.

The Command Position really can help you to feel like you are in better control over your life. Like a modern western gunslinger, sitting at the back of the bar, you are protected and are prepared for anything to happen.

This position is important for the desk as we make financial and business decisions there, the bed, as we spend 1/3 of our lives in this room, and the stove, the economic powerhouse of the home.

When these three places are set up to give us the greatest sense of security, we are in better control and are less likely to be blindsided by the unforeseen. That is a potent combination for creating solid roots.

Yee Haw!
