Luck, Leprechauns and Rainbows

This Sunday is Saint Patrick’s day, which got me thinking about lots of different things, specifically luck, leprechauns and rainbows. After all, we all know there is a pot of gold at the end of those babies!

A rainbow is formed when a substance like water or leaded crystal breaks up a beam of light into the full spectrum of pure color.

Rainbow colors are used as a complete system in BTB Feng Shui, and using all of the hues within an environment brings an inherent harmony to the color scheme. Because a rainbow’s colors represent a cycle, they bring the quality of continuity and the symbolism of eternity or wholeness to a home.

Now, before you start imagining weird rainbow bright rooms take a look at the great example above. This architect has used color to visually lift this heavy entry. Without this color treatment, this entryway is a Feng Shui nightmare.

Or how about adding these beautiful La Laguiole Chantal steak knives in bright rainbow colors to your kitchen table? Add gorgeous blue plates or a table cloth and you’ve got the whole spectrum.e0af19e7e1eb86bc2a0b98840e3ace21

Although it sounds garish there are lots of fun ways to bring the power of the rainbow spectrum into your decor. You can even hide it if needed. A more traditional Feng Shui cure suggests adding rainbow colored beads to an empty vase so that the chi inside is activated.

When a Feng Shui crystal is used in a room, it is often used to bring the power of the sun’s light into the room. I have a large crystal sphere on my desk and when the morning sun hits it the crystal breaks the sun’s light into dozens of lovely rainbows all over the room. It is magical and it always makes me smile and uplifts my chi.
